Fall is here and winter is coming

 There's a wonderful beauty during winter when the tress are bare, the skies are gray, and fresh soft snow is on the ground. I see monotone.

Saturday was a warm sunny winter day. Blue sky with clouds with some snow make great shooting conditions.

Ulm, Germany sits between the Danube and several hills. I chose Kuhberg because I wanted to shoot the famous Max Bill designed  HfG ( Hochschule für Gestaltung) Ulm School of Design building. A few of the architecture photographs will come soon!  Next to the building is a field -- which happened to be covered in snow and shadows.

I sometimes do not have to leave my apartment to find wonderfully interesting things to make a photograph of.

It has been very cold here in southern Germany, ice cold. I opened a window to find this icicle waiting and wanting to be photographed.

As the winter sun was setting it painted shadows on the walls inside my apartment. Although to some it may be mundane, to me it is extraordinary. Look, See, Think.

We have left fall and have entered the beginning of winter here in the area of Ulm, Germany. The mix of fog, frost and different tones of gray converging on farmers' empty fields are intriguing.

I know it has been extremely hot in many parts of the US. In my neck of the woods in Germany, it has been more like early spring and early fall. It got me thinking about snow. Will it be an early winter here?
